Sculpture Explorations: Figures Intensive
In this course students will work with clay as they study the human form. Closely guided by instruction, students will develop skills of observation and proportion as they work with a life model. In addition to skill development, contemporary and historical approaches to figurative sculpture will be discussed. Students will have the opportunity to develop traditional life sculpture techniques within the classroom environment, while being encouraged to find their personal artistic voice as they interpret the figure through observation, stylization and abstraction.
This course is suitable for students with some sculpture experience. The class includes all required materials. Students may choose to purchase supplementary materials.
This course meets in the AGO's Anne Tanenbaum Gallery School. Participants must be 18 or older. Space is limited.
