Street Photography (14-18 years)
Hit the streets surrounding the AGO to make unique compositions of public life featuring stand-out people, buildings and urban nature. Consider how to shoot details in the urbanscape, entire buidlings, and action scenes. Learn about exposure times, lighting, setting and story-telling to arrive at your compelling image. Much of the editing will be done in camera as you shoot the photo. This workshop is suitable for people interested in digital visual image making. Students will create a body of work that could later be used for other processes like bookworks, blogging, standalone fine art prints, or even source images for paintings or drawings.
Students are require to bring their own cameras. A limited number of I-pads are available for the class. This course meets in the Community Gallery located in AGO's Weston Family Learning Centre promptly before heading outdoors. Space is limited.
